It was pure heavenly delight when Yabu: House of Katsu unveiled 2 new dishes last Dec 15, 2012. They launched Menchi with Cheese Katsu and Soft Shelled Crab Katsu.
|
The Yabu experience starts with the d-i-y preparation of the Katsu
sauce. A waiter hands out a wooden mortar and pestle to grind white and black sesame seeds. Catch a whiff of the aroma of freshly grinded sesame seeds!
Pour 2-3 scoops of Katsu sauce
Mix!
I was an eager beaver to finally try Menchi with Cheese Katsu. Menchi is a delicious mix of minced premium beef and pork covered in crunchy panko filled with oozing, creamy cheese.
It surely did not disappoint! One crunchy and cheesy bite leads to another, and before I knew it... I had emptied my plate. |
A friend ordered the Premium Kurobuta Tonkatsu. A black Berkshire pig, is the world's finest pork. Imported straight from Japan; tender, juicy and flavorful pork in a crisp golden panko crust. As Yabu mentions it, it is indeed the High King of Katsu!
It was a complete meal which consists of your chosen Katsu, Japanese rice, steaming bowl of miso soup, unlimited cabbage with sesame dressing, japanese pickles and a bowl of fruit (pineapple and watermelon)
Happy and contented! We're soo full!
I enjoyed Yabu sooo much that I've decided to buy gift certificates to gift foodie friends this holiday season! Spread the Yabu Love!
