Freeway National Collector's Series Fall 2013: Lucio San Pedro

Since 2009, Freeway had been creatively blending fashion + art to reintroduce the Philippine arts and culture to the new breeds of hip and young generation. Thus, Freeway Loves Art: National Artist Collector's Series instantly became a smashing success!

Now on its 9th series, Freeway features the ingenuity of  Maestro Lucio San Pedro, who was proclaimed National Artist of the Philippines for Music in 1991.

Last may 28 2013, in celebration of the Maestro's birth centenary, Freeway proudly launched its latest collection beaming with national soul. The event was hosted by celebrity sexy chef, singer and actress Rachel Alejandro. It was a night filled with music as the host and members of the Angono Rizal Noveau Chorale serenaded the guests with well-loved Filipino classics.

His passion for music was clearly evident in his childhood. At a young age, Lucio San Pedro joined the Barrio San Clemente Boca de Banda and used his ingenuity by using improvised instruments such as "lata" tin cans, "kaldero" kettle/pot and "bilao" winnowing basket for removing rice chaff to create beautiful melodies.

His compositions revolved around what moved him, what he sees and feels. He is widely known as the composer of the popular lullaby "Sa Ugoy ng Duyan."

Winners of the Freeway Art Bag Design Contest were also introduced.

(Freeway's Sheree Gotuaco and Katty Qua)

Here are the winning designs: Christine Sioco's "Ang Huling Babaylan" and Kevin Roque's "Fiestas in the Philippines"

Check out these awe-inspiring pieces from the collection!
Sleeve Extended Tee ( Php1199.75 )

Longsleeve Button Down Workshirt Php (1499.75)
Combi Dress Php (1899.75)

Halter Top with KeyHole (Php1299.75)
Shortsleeve Shift Dress (Php1899.75)

This is pure love! Twofer Dress (Php 1899.75) which comes in beige and teal. I love that the collection is carefully crafted to flatter a woman's figure, with hand drawn lines and curves written with lyrics and title of maestro's famous orchestra pieces.

Cheers to a successful launch!

Thank you Freeway for these memorabilia's: Botong Francisco watch  and Lucio San Pedro's Dance of the Fairies Pouch.
