Precious Moments in Sampaguita Gardens Hotel, Kalibo Aklan

For the past 35 years, Precious Moments had been celebrating with us the gift of everyday life, loving, caring and sharing by means of these thoughtful, tear-drop eyed doll and figurine collectibles.

At Jojo's Christmas Cottage, it sure feels like Christmas 24/7!  The 3-storey Victorian Building houses the Precious Moments store on the ground floor and the Museum of Christmas on the upper floors.

These Precious Moments collectibles had touched our lives in such moving and heartfelt ways. Each doll is uniquely crafted to capture momentous occasions such as anniversaries, baptism, Christmas, weddings, graduation, birthdays, mother/father's day, grandparent's day, valentines, and a lot more. Even in times of grief and sympathy, we find solace and consolation in them.

There's just so much to choose from! Collectors, both kids and kids at heart will be thrilled to see these stunning pieces. Emotions are conveyed through these little messengers of love, friendship, hope, sharing, loving and giving.

Warmest welcome upon entering the Sampaguita Gardens Resort in New Washington Aklan. The resort is approximately 15 mins away from the Kalibo International Airport. A friend and I hired a tricycle for P300 roundtrip fare.

Entrance fee is P50 for adults, P30 for 3 to 12 years old, consumable for food and entrance fees to both the museum and mansion.

Oriental Flavors is a fine dining restaurant that serves a fusion of Asian dishes, primarily Thai and Chinese cuisine. The interiors are decorated in a tasteful mix of ornaments: jars and porcelain vessels, larger-than-life statuary, silk flowers and crystal chandeliers. The tables and chairs were designed and created exclusively for Oriental Flavors. The Oriental Flavors Fine Dining Restaurant is open from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.

It started with a man who had a vision to share love and life's unforgettable moments to the world. Sam Butcher is the artist and creator of Precious Moments. This is his Thai inspired mansion.

Entrance Fee to the mansion is P10. Cleanliness and upkeep of the place is amazing!

The Mansion is gleaming with polished oriental antiques and memorabilia.

The Sampaguita Gardens Spa is a haven for relaxation. It is located in a somewhat secluded corner of the resort, away from the proverbial maddening crowd. This is an ideal venue for very intimate weddings and small receptions.

Jojo’s Fitness Center is a haven for the health-conscious traveler. The Fitness Center has a couple of thread mills and other exercise equipment.

Like little kids with big wide grin on our faces. Finding Precious Moments in Kalibo, Aklan is truly such a worthwhile and wonderful experience.

Tip: Don't forget to visit the meditation chapel located at the back of the Christmas Cottage. We failed to see this. Tsk, tsk.  This is the 2nd Precious Moments-inspired Chapel after the Inspirational Park at Carthage, Missouri.
