My 24-Hour Food Trip in Iloilo

Iloilo City is an all-time favorite Foodie Destination, just roughly 50 mins plane ride from Manila. Where to eat if given only 24 hours?

Lets begin! :)

A hearty breakfast awaits!
Hands down to this deliciously mouth-watering MTJ La Paz Batchoy situated at Jaro Big Market, Jaro Iloilo City.

Are you within the area? Grab a hot bowl now!
A serving of Special Batchoy costs only P35
 ( Can you spell a-f-f-o-r-d-a-b-l-e?)

Ilonggo's most famous dish derived its name from the Chinese word ba chui which means "pieces of meat"

It is the perfect concoction of fresh egg noodles called miki, buto-buto broth slow-cooked for hours, shrimp paste, slivers of pork, intestine & liver topped with fried garlic, chicharon and spring onion.

Ready for lunch?
Feast on native lechon manok plus assorted seafood specialties! Have it cooked the way you like it.
See that steamed Oysters? Y-u-m-m-y

Refreshments at Bo's CoffeeSM Iloilo

Jaro Cathedral, Now formally declared as a National Shrine of Our Lady of Candles by the Catholic Bishop's Conference of the Philippines (CBCP)

The image of Mary, carrying a candle and a child, found at the facade of the church is believed to continuously grow in size and has attracted devotees believing in its miraculous power.

Craving for sashimi, tempura, teppanyaki and a bento box?
Try it here at Suehiro Japanese Restaurant. It offers Dinner Buffet every Wednesdays and Fridays. Lunch Buffet every Tuesdays and Thursdays. What-a-steal price: P300!

This food trip to Iloilo was made possible by our pretty, thoughtful & ever sooo generous friend,  Karen of KarenJardeleza.Com as well as her warm and very accommodating family.

Big thanks for this wonderful experience!

Also located at the Sarabia Manor Hotel & Convention Center is the famous Freddy's American Bar and Restaurant

Ohhhh! The night is still young!
And we still have some room for desserts!

MokkiLato- Real Artisan Gelato!
Eye-Candy yummy cakes!

Nothing But Desserts  is a French inspired Coffee and Pastry Shop located in The Avenue in Smallville, Iloilo's dining, entertainment and nightlife center. Smallville is located along Diversion Road, Mandurriao, Iloilo City.

The fun just wont stop!
Midnight snacks, anyone??!

Afrique's Gourmet Pizza, Pasta Steaks and more!

Pepperoni and Anchovy (P260) with Homemade Tomato Sauce, Durum Wheat Semolina Pasta in Afrique's Signature Cheese and White Sauce, Parmesan  and Mozzarella Cheese

Two thumbs up for the verrryyy refreshing Lemonade Cooler! It has cubes of cucumber and singkamas with a hint of mint.

Hmm, speaking of which, I should try to make one at home soon!

Mai and I with huge smiles on our faces happily ends the night in Iloilo.
