Sto. Nino de Cebu & Ayala Casa Verde

Straight from the Mactan Cebu International Airport, we hailed a cab going downtown to the city.
First and foremost, a trip to the Sto. Nino de Cebu is a must!

Sto. Nino de Cebu is the oldest Catholic relic in the Philippines
established in 1565.
Catholics genuflecting/kneeling down as manifestation of faith and reverence to the humble and miraculous saint.

It is a splendid century old cathedral with antique chandeliers and painted ceilings.

On-going 9am Friday Mass at the open-air structure Pilgrim Center. It was built within the church compound to accommodate the growing number of devotees of Sto. Nino de Cebu.

Lighted some candles as thanksgiving for the safe trip as well as for some personal intentions.

Next to the basilica, stands the 491 year old Magellan's Cross. This is Cebu's most famous landmark. History tells us that in 1521, Ferdinand Magellan planted a huge Christian cross to celebrate baptism into the Roman Catholic religion of Chief Rajah Humabon and some 500 followers. Thus, the first catholic mass in the country.

Here's my OOTD!

We headed to Ayala Terraces next, and waited for the 11am opening of Casa Verde! This is the famous American style casual dining in Cebu.

Here are the tried and tested specialties!

BRIAN'S RIBS. If you taste me youʼll never forget me...
Best seller! Baked pork ribs with a sweet, tangy piquet sauce served with rice and corn and carrots.

Would you believe this big slab of ribs only costs Php208?!

SHRIMP ON THE BARBIE Marinated skewered shrimps and grilled with a side of harvest rice and seasoned vegetables. Php188

THE DAXA combination of USDA round steak drizzled with brown sauce and onions with a catch of tavern shrimps paired with tartar sauce and served with harvest rice and vegetable medley. Php288

DEATH BY CHOCOLATE. This dessert is to die for—chocolate and nutty rocky road ice cream mixed with chocolate bar bits on a bed of chocolate cookie crust. Drizzled with chocolate syrup.

My brother's version of Death by Chocolate! (tee-hee)
We were soooo full! Two thumbs up for Casa Verde.

A glorious feast for 4 (ribs and steak, bottomless icetea and dessert) for just P1,493. (Such a steal!)

  1. You can actually request to change the rice into mashed potato for the rice that comes with the Brian's ribs and you can also request for extra ribs sauce. ^_^
